The College of Information and Computing Studies (CICS) at Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) trains students to become computer professionals in a variety of fields:

Curriculum

CICS offers programs that prepare students to work in government, business, industry, and education.

Research

CICS conducts research on information and communications technology (ICT) to share expertise and facilities with stakeholders.

Certification

NISU offers certification exams to assess students' knowledge and skills in computing. Passing the exam can help students build confidence and become more competitive in their careers.

NISU is a state university that aims to produce human capital with scientific and technological skills, as well as desirable values and work ethics. The university also aims to preserve Filipino values and culture.

Goals of the Institute of Information and Computer Studies

The IICS endeavors to:

1. train students to become computer professionals knowledgeable and competent in meeting the growing demand for software developers and IT persons in government, business, industry and education;
2. harness and undertake relevant ICT researches to provide valuable services and to share expertise and facilities with various stakeholders on the transfer and promotion of information and communications technology for local, regional and national benefit; and
3. inculcate in its students positive Filipino values and attitudes as well as the value of independent and life-long learning.
